In 2016, Linktree created the link-in-bio tech category with a simple, straightforward design that allowed creators to effortlessly unify their digital presence. With over 24 million global users to their name, they were happy with how far that design took them – but, it was time to level up.

The new look prioritizes a deeper connection and global accessibility for the 1.22 billion people looking at Linktree each month with a maximalist visual language that puts the users front and center.

At the highest level, the vision for the redesign was to put the creativity of Linktree creators front and center.

While the original Linktree brand was focused on representing the simple functionality of their product, the rebrand was designed to put people first. Motion, kaleidoscopic color, and arresting photographic effects allow users to show off what makes them special.

The new look and feel is designed to showcase the eclectic elements that make Linktree users unique. So if you have a few different hustles on the go – say, you’re a musician who also has a killer merch line – the new design will make it easier for you to show off all your talents at once.

The Animated Silhouette Treatment

The animated silhouette treatment is our way of showing the depth of Linktree users' lives. Many Linktree users have multiple gigs on the go – like the artist who sells her crafts but also creates special effects make-up tutorial videos.

By composing 2D elements in 3D space, we create a window into the user’s digital universe – bringing the diversity of users to life by inviting an opportunity to explore the depth of the links further.

Custom Built Typeface- Link Sans

We partnered with ATS Type to create LinkSans - a custom, variable typeface. Linktree is used in over 200 countries, which necessitated the creation of a typeface with multilingual support - resulting in a consistent worldwide brand and smooth growth and expansion across global markets. Allowing for optimal accessibility across languages means that the typeface can exist alongside other scripts with minimal interference, making it a global typeface.

Kaleidoscope Color

Linktree’s new color palette is powerful, opinionated, and expressive. It’s grounded by their quintessential brand colour, Canopy green, and ultimately led by accessibility – with all combinations meeting AA standards.

It is crucial that the platform can be used by anybody, so the color palette remains robust, flexible, and ultimately an expressive tool to let the users share their individual personality.
